Carl, age 37, was born Feb. 9, 1958 in Woodward, Ok. Carl graduated John Marshall High School in May 1976. He enlisted in the Navy in June 1977. Upon completion of recruit training at NTC, San Diego, Ca., he reported to Personnelman "A" School at NTTC, Meridian, Ms. Subsequent assignments followed. During his career in the Navy, Carl earned many medals and commendations. He passed away Oct. 16, 1995 in Italy. His survivors include 2 wonderful sons, Steven (13) & Matthew (10) of Edmond; parents, Grady & Kay Burks of Edmond; brother & sister-in-law, Shorty & Pam Burks & their son, Nathan Ports of Edmond; sisters & brothers-in-law, Becky & Ronnie Prince of Harrah, Tammie & George McHone of Edmond; niece & nephews, Rebekah, Joshua & Jeremiah.
