Hallie Ernest Singleton, 46, of 700 Rosedale Arch, died yesterday morning in the Baptist Hospital.
He was born in DeLand, Fla., a son of Mrs. Gussie Fullwood Singleton and the late Henry Singleton. For a number of years he lived at Myrtle Beach, moving to Columbia a number of years ago where he owned and operated a garage at 1614 Barnwell St.
Mr. Singleton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois Welchel Singleton; a daughter, Miss Annie Laura Singleton; his mother, Mrs. Henry Singleton, Hemingway; two sisters, Mrs. Philip Cockfield and Mrs. Lee Williams, both of Hemingway; two brothers, Frank Singleton and Jack Singleton, both of Columbia; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon in the Belmont Baptist Mission by the Rev. George Jeffcoat and Roland Williamson. Interment will be in Crescent Hill Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Hazel Myers, D.C. Bradham, C.L. Catoe, Robert Nance, Jeff Boland, Jack Smith, Morris F. Porter, and Breece Kinlaw. They will meet at the residence at 2 o'clock.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of the Belmont Baptist Mission. They will meet at the church at 2:30.
The body will be taken from the Dunbar Funeral Home this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2 o'clock to the residence.
