Washington Bureau of The Times, Oct. 22--(Exclusive Dispatch.)
Mrs. Ella Meriwether Post, divorced wife of C.W. Post of Battle Creek, Mich., was found dead, this morning, at the home of a friend she was visiting in this city. Mrs. Post was a native of Illinois and has been divorced about eight years. She had been living in New York but came to Washington on a visit last Friday.
Last night with her friends, Mrs. Post attended a theatrical performance and upon returning to her host's home, indulged in a light supper, retiring about 1 o'clock. Shortly after 9 this morning when Mrs. Post did not respond to calls on her door, her room was entered and she was found dead. A physician was summoned but he said she had been extinct several hours.
A married daughter, Mrs. E. B. Close of Greenwich, Ct., has been summoned.
