Funeral services will be held today, Friday, Nov. 21, 11 a.m. at the Tom's Creek Free Will Baptist Church for Vonda Castle VanHoose, 93, of Nippa, Ky., who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Mrs. VanHoose was born May 27, 1915 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Conn Castle and Beulah Akers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Estill "Yeller" VanHoose.
Surviving are two sons, Edgar "Dick" (Patty) VanHoose of Paintsville, and Ernest "Ernie" (Norma Jean) VanHoose of Denver, Ky.; one daughter, Alice Jewell VanHoose Stambaugh of Nippa; two sisters, Ruth Mucklow of Wiley Branch, Ky., and Numa Daniels of Nippa; and seven grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by James Kelly Caudill, with burial following in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.
