Minnie (Brown) Berry
January 27, 1919 – April 20, 2011
Minnie Berry passed away at her home in Whittier, California, surrounded by family members, April 20, 2011 at the age of 92.
She was born in Hanksville, Utah. Her mother's name was Carmelia Melinda Hunt Brown and her fathers name was Henri "Pat" Brown. Minnie's father was from Austria.
She married Wesley Lee Berry on May 6, 1939 in Green River, Utah. Minnie and Wesley lived in DeBeque for 12 years before moving to Sunnyside, UT, then to Grand Junction where he worked for the D & RGW. Their sons were raised in Debeque.
They had two sons, Henrilee (Nita) Berry, of Whittier, CA and Jerry Dale (Cherrie) Berry, of DeBeque, CO; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; She is also survived by one brother, Ralph Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by Wesley Berry and Earnest Valencia, her companion while living in Whittier, California. She resided in Whittier for 20 years.
She loved being a homemaker and loved her flowers. She also loved playing the drums and was well known around the Grand Valley.
Minnie will be buried, along with companion Ernest Valencia, at Memorial Gardens in Grand Junction, Colorado on Saturday, June 18, 2011 with graveside service at 11:00 am.
Minnie was a member of The LDS Church.
