His career was interrupted while he served in the United States Army during World War II. In his baseball career, Tomasic appeared in 2 games with the New York Giants during the 1949 season. A standout athlete during his collegiate years at Temple University, he set several team records with the Owls and was selected to the Blue-Gray Game in 1942. He was inducted into the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame in 1971.
