MR. W. P. PARKER PASSES AWAY
Mr. W. P. Parker, after suffering several years with rheumatism passed away today at 6 a.m.
Mr. Parker was born in Magnolia, NC and was 52 years of age. He was a charter member of the O.R.T., on the A. B. & A. Railroad, having served as a telegraph operator for this road for seven years.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife and four children, Misses Bertha and Marie of Jacksonville, FL and Annie and William at home. Besides his immediate family he leaves seven sister and two brothers; Mrs. A. H. Morris, Mrs. L. C. Register and J. H. Parker of Savannah, GA, Mrs. D. R. Holland and E. M. Parker of Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Rosa Mayers and Mrs. Reid Ard of Sumter, SC, Mrs. Will Blackburn of Shady Dale, GA and Mrs. Howard Truman of Orlando, FL.
Mr. Parker had been a great sufferer and stood his trials as well as could be expected. He died well and his last testimony was cheering to his family and friends. He said he wanted to go Home.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church.
