12 Mar 1847 - Departed Europe for America with family from Le Havre, Seine-Maritime, Haute-Normandie, France.

21 May 1847 - Arrived U.S. Port of New Orleans aboard ship, "Michigan."

Settled in Mascoutah, St Clair County, Illinois with family.

"On the 24th of August 1857, Peter our son left, leaving father, mother, and relatives behind."

"On 18th of July [1861], our Peter went to be a soldier."

"On 15th of February 1862 at Fort Donelson, he was wounded in the knee, and in March lost his leg."

"On Sunday, May 4, 1862, between 2:00 and 3:00 he died in the hospital, he had lost his right leg. His life was gone. He was 23 years 8 months old."

"He rests in a field in a grave."
