Obituary
Unidentified Newsclipping - 1890
CURTIN.--Mrs. Julia A. Curtin was born March 14, 1811. and died in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, September 26, 1890. Sister Curtin was converted, joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in early life and lived an exemplary Christian. She had far more than average intellect, and was the embodiment of Christian kindness and courtesy. During all her life she extended a welcome to Christian ministers and treated them as her own children in her hospitable home. Her devotion to Methodism was unfaltering; her defense of its doctrines enthusiastic; and her exhibition of its spirit beautiful. During the last ten years she was the victim of mental disturbance, which caused reason at times to desert her throne. But the religious spirit always dominated her nature. She fell asleep with her pure spirit reveling amid the divine glories, while such sentences as "I will soon be in my Father's house," "How beautiful it will be when we all get home." were falling from her lips.
