Uncertainty surrounds the birth date of Willis. The 1819 used here is calculted using gregorian and 30-day months from information on the gravestone. The Jackson County 1850 Census lists him as age 29 which would indicate a possible birth year of 1821. Traditional family records say he was born in 1811 however that seems unlikely in light of his gravestone and the 1850 Census.
