Judge George A Brown was a son of Wm. M Brown & Amanda Gray, husband of (1) Julia P. Raines, whom he married May 13, 1847 in Crawford Co., GA. (2) Georgiann V Holland whom he married in Jasper Co. Ga & (3) Loretta J Daniel whom he married in Sumter Co., Ga. on November 23, 1863. He had children by all 3 wives. He died Tuesday Aug 20 1:30 1878 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia, USA.

Americus - A well-known citizen of Americus, died of dropsy at the French House, Tuesday evening, about half past one o'clock. He had been a resident of Americus about twenty-five years, and was a son of the late Col. William M. Brown, of Marion. He once represented Marion County in the Legislature, and has held several important offices of trust in this county. He was for several years Clerk and Treasurer of the city council and for the past six years was Ordinary of this county, which position he held to the day of his death.
