Jan 28, 1949 – Mrs Ethel Claiborne Dies at Wideman

Mrs Ethel Benbrook Claiborne, aged 60, a life-long resident of Wideman, died at her home Thursday, January 20.

Funeral services, in charge of Rev. W. T. Watson of Calico Rock, were held at the Methodist Church at Wideman, Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial was in Wideman Cemetery, with the Roller Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Mrs Claiborne united with the Methodist Church at the age of 13 and remained a faithful member throughout her lifetime. She was married to D. J. Claiborne in 1910. Seven children were born to this union.

Surviving, are her husband; two sons, Lloyd and Floyd Claiborne of Wideman; five daughters, Mrs Zada Webb, Mrs Lois Gibson and Mrs Demolee Jones of Wideman, Mrs Arden Rodman of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs Ruby Claiborne of St. Louis, Mo., her father and mother, Mr and Mrs Robert H. Benbrook of Wideman; two brothers, Ewel Benbrook of Wideman and Euen Benbrook of Oxford; one sister, Miss Margaret Benbrook of Calico Rock; and nine grandchildren.
