Accident on Guam Kills George Pepin (The Morning Journal, Marquette Michigan)
Ishpeming-George Clarence Pepin, 35, formerly of Ishpeming stationed with the U.S. Navy on Guam, was killed there yesterday while operating heavy equipment.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adelore Pepin, 340 S. First St., and was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Ishpeming. He was a graduate of St. John's School here and attended Ishpeming High School. He also was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
He enlisted in the Navy when he was 17.
Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Edna: a daughter, Mary Alice; three brothers, Donald of Kellogg Ida., Robert of National Mine and David of Los Angeles, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Jean) Staniec and Helen, both of Chicago, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs Napoleon Pepin of Ishpeming.
The body will be sent to the Spencer-Sturla Funeral Home at Memphis, Tenn, his wife's home town. Military rites and funeral services will be held there.
His parents and brother, Robert are leaving today for Memphis.
