FLORENCE FRANCES "BABE" SOPHIE DEBS

Florence Frances "Babe" Sophie Debs, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in a local hospital.
Born in Chicago, Florence loved all sports, including horseback riding, fishing, and golf. In recent years, she enjoyed gardening, shopping, and being with her dog, Daisy. She danced in the 1933 Chicago World's Fair, worked as a medical stenographer for a Chicago hospital and a buyer for a furniture/gift store.
Florence was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and all of her life, daily prayed to St. Jude, patron saint of hopeless causes, and Mary, mother of God. She is an avid Notre Dame football fan. Babe was always a spark at any gathering, she will be missed by family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank P. Debs, she is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Debs; her son and daughter in-law Brian T. and Christine Debs; grandchild Heather and fiance Darren Fields; great-grand daughter Olivia; nephew and his wife Jerry and Sylvia Koch and their family; niece Colletta Pagenkopf and her family; niece and husband Jean Sophie and Don Heeler.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:30pm Saturday May 1, 2004 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Dominic Tran serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday evening, April 30, 2004 from 5-7 p.m. at the Harper Morris.
