Milton J. King, Jr was born in Champlain, Oct. 31, 1934, a son of Milton and Evelyn Lamere King . He moved with his family to Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School.
A marriage to Kathleen Horton ended in divorce. He married Marjorie LaRock Mereau in July, 1977.
Mr. King worked at the Aluminum Company of America, Massena, and later at the Singer Sewing Center, Massena, in sales and repair. He also worked as a salesman for Ray Geary Chevrolet, Ogdensburg, Collins Motors, Ogdensburg, and Morning Star Homes, Gouverneur. He was last employed at Trimm's Oldsmobile/GMC, Ogdensburg. He and his wife were home child-care providers.
He was the secretary and treasurer of the New York State Family Home Care Providers organization, a member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor A.D. Charbonneau Council 258, where he was a trustee, financial secretary, and newsletter editor. He was named Knight of the Year in 1989.
He was the Knights of Columbus state chairman for senior citizens from 1990 to 1991. He was the Faithful Navigator of the Bishop Monaghen 4th Degree Assembly from 1990 to 1992.
Mr. King was a director and member of "SHOWTIME," serving as the show's business manager program and general chairman. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish and the Coast Guard Auxiliary where he was an instructor in boating safety.
