Aged Pioneer Lady Buried Thursday
Mrs. Sarah Ann Pendroy was born on August 5th, 1825 in Delaware County,Indiana and died at her home south of Cambridge, Iowa, February 20, 1917 aged 91 years, 6 months and fifteen days. She was united in marriage January 20, 1848 to Abraham Burns, and to this union nine children were born, four of whom are still living, besides twenty seven grand children, 46 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. Mother burns had been a continual resident of Elkhart Township, Polk County, Iowa since March 5, 1865, and lived in the same farm during that time. The funeral was held Thursday from the White Oak, Rev. H.H. Jones having charge of the services. Burial was made in the White Oak cemetery.
