OBITUARY Iron County Reporter Oct 16 2002 "Obituaries: Lucille Winton"
MARSHFIELD, Wis.-Lucille Winton, 91, formerly of Bates Township, died Oct. 12 at the Marshfield Center Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1911 in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Alfred and Amelia (Bray) Perkins. She moved to the local area at age nine with her family and resided in the Bates Location and in Gaastra where she attended school. On March 1, 1934 she married Ralph Winton and the couple made their home in Bates Township. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1988. She moved to Caspian in the Spring Valley Apartments in 1998 prior to moving to Marshfield. She had worked as a sales clerk and cashier for 25 years at the former A&P Store in Iron River. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Iron River and life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had also been an avid bowler until she was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Melvin Perkins, and a sister Eleanor Gionunzio.
She is survived by a daughter Marilyn (Randy) Bergstrom of Marshfield, Wis.; a son Michael Winton of Nekoosa, Wis.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Iron River. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star conducted memorial services at 12:45 p.m. at the church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. at the church, with lay minister Dawn Treado-Green officiating.
Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery.
Langenberg Funeral Home-Iron River Chapel is serving the family.

INFORMATION FROM RELATIVE cousin Jeff Gonyea says Lucille Winton's maiden name was Perkins. Her parents were Alfred Charles Perkins (1875-1899) and Amelia M. (Bray) Perkins 1882-1949. She was born at Iron Mountain MI and died at Marshfield WI.
