George W. Whitten passes away. He was born July 9, 1853, and departed this life June 1, 1929. He was married to Miss Martha Estep and to this union fifteen children were born, six of whom preceded him to the grave. The children living are: Mrs. H. P. Lovejoy and Mrs. N. W. Lovejoy, of Palermo; Mrs. John Linville and Mrs. A. C. Abbott of Alkol; Mrs. Leonard Cooper and Mrs. Delmer Webb, of Morrisvale; Roma and Bernie Whitten of Bernie, and Frank Whitten of Morrisvale. He also leaves two brothers and four sisters, the brothers being, C. E. Whitten, of Hurricane, and J. M. Whitten, of Bulger, and the sisters are Mrs. S. A. Egnor, of Madison; Mrs. G. W. Estep, of Curry; Mrs. H. A. Linville, of Alkol, and Mrs. Henry Stowers of Griffithsville. Funeral services were conducted by E. L. Adkins and Ebb Cummings at the home of the deceased.
George was married to Martha Jane Estep. He is the son of James Whitten and Mary Frances Mays.
