Son of Wilford Woodruff Marley and Clarinda Ione Raymond
John A. (Jack) Marley, 71, 780 Poole, died Tuesday evening at Bannock Regional Medical Center following an illness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1908, at McCammon, to Wilford W. and Clarinda Ione Raymond Marley and was reared at McCammon.
On May 8, 1943, he married Lola (Tiny) Kiest at Pocatello.
Mr. Marley was employed by Golob Oil until 1946 when they moved to Riverton, Wyo. where he owned and operated Jax Service. In 1957 he sold the business because of a back injury and moved to Lander where he opened Gas Distributing Company for one year. He later sold it to V-1 Oil Company. After his retirement in 1958, the family cam back to Pocatello.
Mr. Marley was an avid hunter and ardent fly fisherman who tied his own flies.
Survivors include his wife, Pocatello; a son, Richard B. Marley, Chubbuck; four brothers, Raymond W., Pocatello; Heber D., Springfield; Cecil O., McCammon; and Clyde Dean, Ridgecrest, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Bessie) Kase and Mrs. Eli (Lydia) Bybee, both of Pocatello; Mrs. Clyde (Marion) Keller, Burlington, Wash.; and Mrs. Sylvan (Luella) Elder, Willington, Calif.; a grandchild and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kieth, sister, Nancy, and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel with Reverend J. Russell Houston of the Central Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Mountainview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Manning Funeral Chapel.
