BERT L. NEWMAN
Bert L. Newman, 80, 6 E. 13th St., died at 10:15 last night at his home.
Born Jan. 1, 1879, in Delaware County, he came to Anderson 20 years ago from Terre Haute. He was a retired painter and decorator and a member of the South Meridian Church of God, the Painters and Decorators Local Union 1033 of Muncie.
Surviving are the widow, Margaret; two sons, Victor R. Newman, Muncie, and Harley Newman, Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Ella Felton, Tampa, Fla.
Friends will be received at the Brown and Butz Funeral Home, and services will be held there at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Warren C. Roark of the South Meridian Church of God. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
