James Evans Berry is my great grandfather. He is the grandsonson of Elijah and Ellen Berry and the son of James and Catherine Maples. He married my great grandmother, Johnie Magnolia Downer, on December 19, 1897. They had eight children.

The youngest of those is my grandmother, Johnie Allene Berry Cox. He died when my grandmother was only 9 months old.
Cause of death, typhoid fever.

According to his death certificate he is buried in Godley Cemetery, but no one has been able to find his marker so far.
