Donald A. Harper was born Aug. 3, 1921, in the town of Lisbon, son of Frank and Mae Porter Harper. He graduated from Lisbon Rural School in 1939 and served in the Navy during World War II.
He married Jean Todd on Oct. 6, 1948, in Wheeling, W.Va.
Mr. Harper worked for 37 years in the occupational therapy department at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of Waddington Masonic Lodge, Lisbon American Legion, Ogdensburg Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United Presbyterian Church of Lisbon and a former member of the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department.
