A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2001 at Central United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, sons, Leroy (Janie) Colston , Walter (Kathy) Colston , Ronald (Judy) Colston and Donald (Joy) Colston , all of Marshville, David (Clementine) Colston of Burnsville, Gilbert Colston of Monroe, and Michael (Ann) Colston of Charlotte; daughters, Dorothy (Donald) Polk, Frances Howard, Mable Colston , Barbara (Silas) Christian and Cynthia (Grant) Gaddy, all of Monroe, Nancy (Larry) McCain of Charlotte, and Cassie Carruth of Corona Heights, New York; sister, Grace Evans of Brooklyn, New York; thirty-eight grandchildren; a number of loving great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Mr. Colston was preceded in death by his wife, Mahaley Oueen Hammonds Colston a son, Preston Colston , Sr. and a grandaughter Miss. Tanya Rachelle Christian.
