Henry Albers Rites Are Held Wednesday
Requiem High Mass was sung Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. John's Church at Maria Stein for Henry Albers, aged 89, retired farmer of the Maria Stein community who died Saturday night in the Joint Township Hospital at St. Marys of a complication of ailments. The Reverend George Kraft officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Albers was born near Maria Stein March 17, 1870. His parents were August and Elisabeth Orting (Ording) Albers. He and Mary Roetgerman of Minster were married in 1900 and she died August 22, 1958. Mr. Albers was the last of his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward L. Albers.
Surviving are seven children, 31 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The children are Alfred of Montezuma, Mrs. Cletus (Ida) Schaaf of Dayton, Mrs. William (Marcella) Burris of Danna, Florida, John of Chickasaw, Herbert of Cassella, Mrs. John (Bertha) Wright of Detroit Michigan, and Mrs. James (Joanna) Peay of Adrian, Michigan.
Arrangements were completed by Hogenkamp Funeral Home.
