Thomas Luther Lathrop married Mina Margaret Brown on January 1, 1900 in Ottumwa, Wapello co., Iowa. Mina Margaret Brown is the daughter of John and Mary (Kerr) Brown.
Thomas Luther and Mina Margaret (Brown) child died in infancy.
T.L. (Lou) Lathrop, 66, of 119 South Moore street, died at 7:40 a.m. today at the Wapello county hospital. He had been a resident of the county all his life.
Wideley known in railroad circles. Mr. Lathrop had worked for the Burlington, the Milwaukee and for John Morrell & Co.'s railroad department. He had also been employed at one time by the Iowa Southern Utilities Co.
He was the son of Harrison T. and Nancy Kerr Latrhop, born in Wapello county July 25, 1875. He had lived in Ottumwa for the last 48 years.
He retired two years ago from his employment at John Morrell & Co. He had ben in ill health since that time.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Brown Lathrop; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Roseman, Carborn Cliff, Ill., and Mrs. Clara Byrum, Blakesburg, and several neices and nephews. Four brothers and two sisters, preceded him in death. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for T. L. (Lou) Lathrop, 119 South Moore street, who died Monday morning, will be held at the Church of the Brothern, Moore street and Wabash avenue, Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charles A. Albin will be in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The casket will be at the home until noon Wednesday, when it will be taken to the church to remain open until the hour of the services.
Active and honorary pallbearers will be his former associates where he worked for the Iowa Southern Utilities Co. and for John Morrell & Co.
Surviving Mr. Lathrop are his wife, Mina, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Roseman of Carbon Cliff, Ill., and Mrs. Clara Byrum of Blakesburg.
