DIABETES FATAL TO AGED WOMAN
Mrs. Mary A. Carter Ill Several Months
Mrs. Mary Ann Carter, a resident of Boone county forty-seven years, died at 8 p. m. Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Dossett, in Harrison township. She had been ill since last December with diabetes, which caused her death.
Mrs. Carter was born in Hendricks county, August 30, 1852. She was married in that county June 19, 1870, to J. W. Carter, who died March 13, 1924. Nine children survive; Alwilda Dillon of Pittsboro; Amanda Acton, of Harrison township; George W. Carter, of Danville, Ind.; Daisey Myrtle Dickerson, of Harrison township; W. C. Carter, of Indianapolis; Roy E. Carter of Clermont, Ind.; Flora Della Dossett, of Harrison township; Harl Carter, of Indianapolis; Jessie Sharp, of Whitestown. Two children are deceased. Thirty-five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren are living.
Mrs. Carter was a member of the Central Christian church of this city. She had been a resident of Lebanon at different times for about twenty-five years.
The funeral will be held at the W. H. Dossett residence, five miles south of Lebanon on the Pittsboro road, at 10 a. m. Sunday, the Rev. Henry Ashley officiating. Internment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
