John Gust Pappas, 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep February 11, 1990 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born January 3, 1914, Price, Utah, son of Gust J. Pappas and Jennie Jouflas. Married Katherine Georgopoulos, January 6, 1946, Price, Utah. She died March 20, 1988. Member of the Greek Orthodox Church. He was a devote participant in church activities. Lifelong resident of Price, graduate of Carbon High School and Mesa Junior College, Grand Junction, Colorado. Served with U.S. 8th Air Force in England during World War II as a Master Sargeant. He was self-employed lifestockman, prior to managing Utah State Liqour Store in Price for 25 years. He retired in 1987. Life-member VFW, Post #2379, life-member Price Elks Lodge #1550, and avid sportsman. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Survived by one son, one daughter, John C. "Kit" Pappas and his wife, Kelly, Price; Mrs. Maria Wadsworth, Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughters, Tiffany and Brittany of Price; three grandchildren of Las Vegas; one brother, four sisters, Luke G. and wife, Gene S. Pappas, Price; Mae Bikakis, East Carbon City; Bessie Protopappas, Sacramento, California; Sandra Guy, Laguna Beach, California; Mary Lines, Salt Lake City; also survived by sister and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tula White and brother, Nick G. Pappas.

Funeral services Thursday, 2 p.m., Greek Orthodox Church. Trisgion Prayer Services, Wednesday evening, 7 p.m., Mitchell Chapel, where friends may call Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday prior to services. Interment: Price City Cemetery. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions to Greek Orthodox Church, 61 South 2nd East, Price, Utah, 84501.
