Hold Last Rites For John McCoy

Funeral services for the late John O. McCoy were held in the Johnson chapel at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with Rev. M.E. Van de Mark, pastor of the Epworth Methodist church, in charge and assisted by the Kalispell lodge No. 42 A.F.& M.
During the services two selected solos were sung by Don Shepard with Miss Louise Hanger as accompanist. Pallbearers chosen to act included H.H. Hartson, R. H. Torbert, M. F Gould, Leon Phillips, J.A. Pearce, and E.C. Loy. Interment was in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.
John O. McCoy was born in Brooklyn (sic), Missouri April 14, 1877. He came to Montana when a very young boy. In 1902 he was married to Nettie Wheeler at Rochester, Montana and to this union born two girls, June and Leone. Mrs. McCoy passed away at Twin Bridges in March, 1938.
His last employment was that of engineer at the State School in Twin Bridges. He held that position for 10 years, but in 1940 he retired and came to Kalispell to make his home.
On April 4, 1944 he was married to Margaret Saalbach in Missoula who survives him. He is also survived by the two daughters, Mrs. C. F. Dupuis of Seattle and Mrs. C.A Peterson, Kalispell; two grand-daughters, two brothers, Ira and Clarence of Bethany, Missouri, and one sister, Mrs. Clarence Monk of Los Gatos, Calif.
He was a member of West Gate Masonic lodge No. 27 at Twin Bridges. Mr. McCoy passed away at a local hospital Sunday evening at the age of 71 years.
