He was united in marriage to Margaret A. Sheppard on May 26, 1864 at Bloomington, Illinois. He moved from there to Kansas in 1876, and from there to Oklahoma in 1899 and to I. T. in 1901, where his wife died June 26, 1901. To this union was born five children, three of which and one brother are left to mourn for him. He confessed faith in Christ early in life and united with the M. E. church of which he was a member at the time of his death. Funeral services at his home by the writer, after which his remains were laid to rest in the Madison Cemetery to await his coming.
