Famous as the host of a multitude of popular TV game shows, he was also an accomplished actor in the light-leading man catagory. He appeared on stage, in movies and television shows dating from the 1950s through the 1990s. Some of them include "It's Garry Shandling's Show," "The Love Boat," "Murder She Wrote," "Charlie's Angels," " Hawaii Five-0," "MacMillan and Wife," "Love American Style," "Mary Tyler Moore," "Night Gallery," and many others. On stage he appeared in the original productions of the hits "Fiddler on the Roof," "Cabaret," and "The Impossible Years," as well as playing 'Hildy Johnson' in the 1969-1970 revival of "The Front Page" and was Raul Julia's replacement in the 1982 production of the Tony-award winning musical "Nine."
