F/O Benedikt Blatný DFM and P/O George Moffat Urwin were attached to No. 32 Service Flying Training School and died when their Oxford Mk I aircraft AS625 collided mid-air with another plane AS229, possibly due to both pilots being blinded by the sun. Both crew members of AS229, LAC Svatopluk Maly and LAC Alfred Charles Channon were also killed.
