Mary Baker Eddy overcame many hurdles to become author of a 90-year best seller, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures; a pioneer of the mind-body connection; and founder and publisher of The Christian Science Monitor, a daily international newspaper. In 1995, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame for "making an indelible mark on society, religion, and journalism." Her book, Science and Health, has been translated into 17 languages and was voted by the Women's National Book Association as one of "75 books by women whose words have changed the world." The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity houses one of the largest multi-disciplinary collections by and about an American woman."
