Nora was one of 7 children born to Daniel Loomis Jarvis and Effie Emily McCannon Jarvis. She was born in the North Santiam area near Stayton and lived all of her life in Oregon, the last 40 years in the Albany area. She married George Butcher Ashford in 1913. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1963. Nora was a member of the First Church of God, Albany. She is survived by her husband George, and 5 of her 6 children:

Delbert Ray Ashford & wife Leona
George Herman Ashford & wife Juanita
Doris Irene Ashford Lewis & husband Clyde
Erma Maxine Ashford Wood & husband Ronald
She also leaves 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
One son Lyle Wesley Ashford died in 1922. He is buried with her at this cemetery. Nora's parents Daniel Jarvis and Effie Jarvis are also buried in this cemetery in Sec. 2, Lot 34. Her family remaining also included a brother Clifford Jarvis and two sisters, the Rev. Mary West and Mrs. Edith Bradley.
