Chateaugay Record and Franklin County Democrat, Chateaugay, NY., Friday, March 23, 1906:
"The death of Calvin T. Fletcher, which occurred Sunday, March 11th, at Helena, removes one of the beat known business men of St. Lawrence and Franklin counties, where he has been a prominent figure for tbe past thirty-five years. Mr. Fletcher was born in the town of Lawrence in 1838. In 1862 he studied law at Lawrenceville and later he entered a law office in Malone, passed the examinations and was admitted to practice in the courts of the state in 1864. He located in Chateaugay where he practiced for awhile, in the meantime marrying Miss Fredonia Reynolds, a daughter of Gates Reynolds, a prominent merchant of Bombay, who finally persuaded his son-in-law to give up the practice of law and engage in the mercantile business as a partner with him, which he consented to do, selling his law library to Charles Burke, now of Malone. During his stay here Mr. Fletcher taught school for a time in the building now used as the fire department."
