N. Oscar Adams, Galesburg Chapel
84, 1080 Frank St., Galesburg, died at 11:55 PM Sunday, November 2, 2008 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
He was born May 27, 1924 in Lancaster, KY, the son of Luke Elisha and Juanita Adams. He married Marilyn J. Sauter on April 21, 1945 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Ron Adams of Galesburg, a daughter, Becky (and Stan) Mason of Galesburg, a granddaughter, Emily (and Chris) Henry, a great granddaughter, Delaney Henry, and a sister, Grace Cassiani of Lisle, IL. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He first worked for BCC (Burlington Chicago Cartage) and then for Tobler Transfer, where he retired as terminal manager in 1985. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be 1:30 PM Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Linda Baldwin will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday at the chapel.
