|Death: ||Dec. 27, 1986|
One of four children born in Estherville, Iowa to Marcus and Margaret Hubbard. Two of his siblings died very young though. Early in life he and his family moved to Seattle, WA. Thomas was a good student, graduating as the valedictorian of his high school class. He became a cook in the army, serving in France during WWI. Upon his return he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad from which he retired after a long career as a freight inspector. He married Cora Lucille Hubbard, a cousin. In 1973 he and Cora moved to Texas to be closer to their daughter and her family. First living in San Antonio and then Seabrook, Texas. He died in 1986, the result of a stroke and is buried at the Houston National Cemetery. His grandchildren will never forget the outings to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle with their grandfather. Stopping at the grocery on the way to buy peanuts for the animals and at McDonald's on the way home for burgers for the dogs. He loved dogs and had many during his life.
