"Mr. D.E.Bowen, of Washington Creek, died at his farm on Friday evening, after an illness which has almost entirely disabled him since last February. Mr. Bowen came to this county in 1856, and has resided ever since on the place at the time of his death. He was about 68 years of age. He was well known in Lawrence. He was at one time an elder in the Presbyterian church in Clinton. His wife died in 1875. He leaves six children - five sons and one daughter. The funeral services will be held at Clinton today at the Presbyterian church, at 3 o'clock."
