ROBERT SEINSOTH

Robert Joseph

Seinsoth, Sr.

"Bob"

Age 57, of Bear, DE, loving husband, father and poppy, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 27, 2008.

Chairman Christopher Johnson and the officers and trustees of the Delaware Police Chiefs' Foundation Inc., and Chief Michael Capriglione and members of the Delaware Police Chiefs' Council, Inc., recognize Bobs nearly 25 years of outstanding service to the police community. Bob was born and grew up in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Marion Morgan Seinsoth and the late Harry Seinsoth, Sr. Upon his graduation from high school, he volunteered to enter the Marine Corps. After his military service, he joined the Elsmere Police Department and in 1984, he transferred into the state Attorney Generals office as a Medical Fraud Investigator. Subsequent to that assignment, he rejoined the Elsmere Police Department under Police Chief Pat Ramone, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Bob joined Happy Harry's in 1987 as a Director of Human Relations and Security.

Due to the increasing complexity of both departments as well as the growth of the organization, Bob was assigned the duties of Loss Prevention Manager for the Corporation, a position he has held until the merger with Walgreens. In the interim, Bob earned a degree from Delaware Technical and Community College, joined the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) as well as Crime Stoppers. He served as Chairman individually for each organization (1992 for ASIS) and continued to serve as an active member of the Board of Directors for both organizations. Since his term as Chair of the ASIS Chapter, Bob has remained an active member of the Executive Committee in the position of Legislative Liaison. He also served as the Master of Ceremonies for the "Awards" portion of each Annual Seminar and Exhibits for ASIS. Bob also served as a trustee of the Delaware Police Chiefs' Foundation. Bob belonged to the Minquas and Elsmere Fire Companies. He taught Criminal Justice at Delaware Technical and Community College for 24 years. He loved to teach and touched so many students' lives as he watched them graduate. He felt he had accomplished his job.

Bob is survived by his wife of 15 years, Naomi Kranz Seinsoth; his son, Robert "Bubba" Seinsoth, Jr., his daughter, Michelle Robinson; his son in law, Richard Robinson; his stepson, Matthew Planer; his grandson, Jeffrey Robert and granddaughter, Emilie; his mother, Marion Morgan Seinsoth; his brother, Harry J. Seinsoth, Jr., his sister in law, Angela Seinsoth; his sister, Roseanne Seinsoth; 4 godchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many friends who helped and supported Bob through his courageous battle. We would also like to thank Delaware Hospice and Heartland Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 3 at 11 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd., Bear, DE. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek on Sunday, November 2 from 3-7 pm and again on Monday at the church from 10-11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Bob Seinsoth Scholarship for Criminal Justice, Institutional Advancement, c/o Delaware Technical and Community College, 400 Stanton-Christiana Rd., Rm. B210, Newark, DE 19713.
