Gladys was the oldest child of Levi Henry and Gracie Mae (Litchfield) Brown. She was the wife of Hubert Howard Joyce and the mother of two, and also the wife later of Virgil Lynn Nichols, who is still living in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Mrs. Gladys Mildred Nichols, 65, of 221 Calvert Drive, died at 11 am Tuesday at Lourdes Hospital.
A Trigg County native, she was a member of Highview Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Virgil Lynn Nichols; a son, R. H. Joyce, Murray; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Walker, Lovelaceville; two brothers, Henry Brown, Paducah, and Willie D. Brown, Dexter; a sister, Mrs. Ada Baker, Symsonia; four grandchildren, Larry Joyce and Stacey Joyce, both of Murray and Keith Walker and Donna Walker, both of Lovelaceville, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 pm Friday at Lindsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Perkins Atherton and the Rev. Kenneth Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Maplelawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6:30 pm today.
