When Frances Mittie Lummus was born in 1825 in Abbeville, South Carolina, her father, James, was 40 and her mother, Rebecca, was 33. She married Robert Hurt Camper on August 20, 1844, in Warrenton, Alabama. They had eight children in 19 years. She died on September 10, 1903, in Smith, Texas, having lived a long life of 78 years.

After Robert died, she lived by her daughter Salina Finette Camper Wallis and her husband Hugh (Hue). Finetta died in 1885, Smith County,Texas.

Francis Lummus Camper was the daughter of James & Rebecca Lummus.
