George T. Cummings was the son of George T. and Frances Weaver Cummings. He was born in Millville where he attended school. He participated in dramatics and music, was a choir leader and sang at many funerals. On October 8, 1902, he married Lilliath Ethel Jessop, the daughter of Richard and Mary Ellen Shaffer Jessop. She was born September 13, 1884, in Millville where she attended school and helped on her father's farm. She was active in the auxiliaries of the LDS Church and was a charter member of the Sunflower Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. George was a carpenter by trade. They lived in California, Oregon and Brigham City, Utah, and spent their last few years in Hyrum. They were the parents of eight children: Ethel Manetta, Ellen Monica, George Richard, Victoria, Abe Vincent, Francis Narene, Faun Maxine and Charles Clair.
