Charles Albert Partain was born in 1865 in Madison County Indiana. He was the oldest child of George Partain and Malinda Smethers. He was married at least twice, first to Lucretia Valentine and then to Margaret Perkins Scott. He was the father of Goldie, John Alva, Forest and Arthur.
CHARLES PARTAIN, DELCO VETERAN, DIES OF INJURY
Charles Albert (Dad) Partain, age 86, 716 Washington boulevard, veteran employe of Delco-Remy Division, died this morning at St. John's Hospital from injuries suffered in an accident two weeks ago when he fell while trimming a tree at his home and suffered a broken hip.
Mr. Partain had been employed at Delco-Remy for nine years and was one of the oldest workers in active ducty. He had lived at the Washington boulevard home for twenty years.
Mr. Partain was born at Pendleton and had resided in Madison county his entire life. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Partain; three sons, Arthur Partain, Indianapolis; A. J. Partain and Forest Partain, of Anderson; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lucille Collins, this city, and Mrs. C. E. Clark, Indianapolis; three grandsons, four great grandchildren, and a brother, Chauncey Partain, Lapel.
The body was taken to the Sells and Rowe funeral home, where friencs will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Memorial Park.
