Verna Leone Cole 10/23/24 ~ 3/02/04 Born to Albert and Ione Cole in Grantsville, one of 10 children. Loving mother of six, Lynette Olsen, Billy Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Sarita Pike, Jackie Jacobs, and Dawn Johnson. Truly loved by her 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Like her mother, she was well-known for the beautiful roses she grew. Verna's legacy will live on in her beautiful stitchery creations, which she taught and shared with her loved ones. Verna was always there with a pot of coffee and quick wit, she shot from the hip. She loved to cook and you had to love her homemade bread and fudge. People would hide outside her door to get a chance to hear her play her organ, which she liked to play everyday. Verna was so special she was even a favorite mother-in-law to Kathy and Janice. As a mother and a grandmother she was also a best friend. Never too weary to lend a helping hand. You could always count on a shoulder to cry on and a sympathetic ear to listen and bawdy humor to cheer you. She leaves behind many cherished memories and the void she leaves will never be filled. Sleep with the angels, Mom. Viewing will be held Sun. from 4-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home 4330 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City.
