Grandma Tunison

It is with profound sorrow that we chronicle the death of Grandma Tunison, one of Froid's most beloved characters who passed away on Friday night, Oct. 14th, at the Trinity Hospital in Williston where she was taken the Sunday previous when she became suddenly worse after about two weeks illness.

A number of her children were at her bedside when death came and all were here to attend the funeral with the exceptions of Chancy Tunison of Wyocena, Wis. and Mrs. Katie Killam of Jamul, Cal. The remains were shipped back to her home here in Froid where they remained until Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at which time funeral services were held from the residence and later from the Congregational church of which she was a devoted member. Rev. Manderson officiated at the services and paid a loving tribute to the life and character of one who will always be greatly missed by her large circle of friends who knew her as she really was. Aside from being in sweet communion with the Almighty and His teachings, she was a true and dear friend of everybody. She was responsible for the organization of the local Congregational Ladies Aid and took an active part when health would permit. Many a tear stained eye was noticeable at the church when all that was earthly Grandma Tunison passed thru its doors for the last time and at the cemetery where she was tenderly laid to rest, five of her sons acting as pallbearers.

The church choir sang her favorite selections and the text Rev. 14-13 was announced as her choice of scripture lessons. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, contributed by members of the family and friends.

To those bereft of a kind aged mother, the entire community extends sympathy.
