PHILADELPHIA — Services for Orville Berton Tingle will be held today at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Tingle, 79, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, in his home. He was born and raised in Neshoba County. He was the Neshoba County Farm Bureau Insurance Agency manager from 1958 until his retirement in 1997. After retirement, he served on the Neshoba County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He also was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Neshoba County Farm Bureau. He was a past member of the Philadelphia Toastmasters and a past president of the Philadelphia Lions Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann Dansby Tingle; a son, Bert Tingle and his wife, Judy Leigh; daughters, Sue Tingle and Sharon Tingle McKay and her husband, Don, all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, John Tingle and his wife, Emily, Dan Tingle, William Tingle, Richard McKay, Samuel McKay and Mollie Clair McKay; a brother, Melvin Tingle of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Tingle Sr.; brothers, Fletcher W. Tingle Jr., Charles W. Tingle and R.C. Tingle.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
