John "Conehead", of Arizona, earned his "Clearance Card" on Tuesday.
He was a graduate of Nederland High School. His passion of trains was fulfilled by his thirty-five years of service as an Engineer with The Santa Fe Railroad and Amtrak. He was known to run on the "High Side".
After his early retirement at the ripe 'old' age of 55, he was able to enjoy his nine grandchildren to the fullest. His passion for music, sports, and cards brought much enjoyment to his life. He found serenity at the family cabin in Zwolle, Louisiana.

Survivors include four daughters and their spouses, Jennifer and Paul Pruett, Allison and Carmie Cone-Alfano, Sarah and Patrick Gibbs and Lisa Bailey; nine and ½ grandchildren: Jeffery, Stacy, Cody, and Ashley Pruett; Landon and Braydon Cone-Alfano; Garrett Gibbs; Bethany and Zane Bailey; two brothers, Dan and Alma Cone, and Gary Cone; two sisters, Patricia and Henry Miller and Ethel and John Mathew. He was the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Wilma Cone, formally of Nederland.
