My Brother

Son of L Ray Clark and Esther (Laughrey) Clark. Brother of Wade Clark.

Mark Steven Clark was born December 14, 1956 to Lorenzo Ray and Esther Florene Laughrey Clark at Beloit, Kansas. He departed this life of 51 years, 8 months, and 12 days early Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at his home in Beloit after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mark attended the St. John's school system and later attended the North Central Kansas Vocational-Technical School where he became a welder. He worked for Kent Manufacturing in Tipton for several years.

On April 2, 1982, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jo Gildersleeve at Beloit, and to this union were born four children Jared, Ashley, Nicholas, and Kallie.

For many years, Mark was a sanitation engineer for JKL Trash Removal Service. Always efficient, Mark took pride in his job until a physical disability forced him to quit.

A rather quiet person, Mark had a good sense of humor. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a very devoted follower of the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved music of the ‘60's, ‘70's and had a special affinity for Elvis Presley and Queen. Mark also enjoyed Richard Pryor. He loved being outdoors where he enjoyed target shooting.

Mark was baptized into Christ at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
