Death: Sep. 29, 1985

Ella was born on January 18, 1901 in Singer, LA to George and Alzenith Baggett, Sr.

On August 25, 1919, a marriage bond for $500 was signed in Leesville, LA between Ella and Lee Jackson Ashworth.
Around 1923-24 they moved to California along with their first born, Eloise, in search of a better life.

Ella was a devoted mother of seven children:
Eloise b. 1/12/1921 in LA; d. 3/12/2005
Lee Jackson, Jr. b. 4/1/1926 in CA; d. 2/10/2011
Patsy Ruth b. 3/19/1928 in CA; d. 10/10/1993
Calvin Willard b. 8/20/1933 in CA; d. 12/5/1992
Living daughter b. 2/29/1936 in CA
Living daughter b. 11/7/1942 in CA
Living daughter b. 6/6/1945 in CA

At the time of her death, she and Lee had been married for 66 years. She was survived by all seven of her children, 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will always be remembered for her caring and adoring ways.

In loving memory of Ella Nora (Baggett) Ashworth (written by a grandchild):
GRAMMA

GIVING: She gave and gave until she could give no more, not asking for anything but just the knowledge we'd all be there.

REMEMBERING: She would never forget each one of us, she made us all feel just as special as the next person. She always remembered to have that twinkle in her eye.

ACCEPTING: She always seemed to find a way to accept things with a special kind of dignity. She always accepted each one of us with open arms.

MOTHER: She was a mother to seven children, her love for them will remain alive in their hearts forever.

MIRACLE: She seemed to be a special little miracle sent from God. She brought a little miracle of sweetness and love wherever she went.

ANGEL: Though God never sent an angel to our life time, she seemed to give me a glimpse of just what one might be like--Special.
