Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 in the Waverly Chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home for George Samuel Bone of Waverly.
Mr. Bone, age 70, passed away Sept. 9.
Bro. Jeff Keele officiated the service with burial in Bone Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Luff Bowen Funeral Home.
Mr. Bone was born March 21, 1941 in Waverly. He was a retired union ironworker. He was a member of Waverly Elks Lodge, ironworkers Local Union #492 and Waverly church of Christ.
Mr. Bone was the son of the late Joseph Henry Bone and Ellen Pirtle Bone.
Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife Elizabeth "Betty" Irvine Bone; son, Larry Kinder Bone; brother, Bill Bone; sister, Jo Anne Bone Anderson; and stepson James Robert "Jimmy" Forrest, Jr.
Survivors include second wife, Shirley McCaleb Forrest Bone of Waverly; son, Chad Bone (Amber) of New Johnsonville; stepdaughter, Katrina Forrest May (Jamie) of Tuscaloosa, Ala; three step grand children, Robert Kyle May, Jessica Floyd and Jenna Hendrickson; and one step great grandson, Ethan James Floyd.
