N. H. Hubbard Laid To Rest
Funeral services for N. H. Hubbard were conducted Saturday, September 27 at 10 a.m. from the Peterson-Johnson funeral home in Milaca with the Rev. Harold Hannen officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Kato Rasmussen sang and the pall bearers were Phillip Anderson, Ra Anderson, Aemer Anderson, Melvin Ripke, Mark Cooper and Wesley Phillips. Internment was in Forest Hill cemetery.
Norman Henry Hubbard was born at Rudd, Iowa, on December 27, 1864, where he grew to manhood. On January 9, 1887, he was united in marriage with Miss Emma Jane Brown at Ruthven, Iowa. In 1906 he moved his family to South Dakota, living there until 1920 when he moved to Milaca and settled on a farm in Hayland township. Six years after the death of his wife, who passed away on May 1, 1940, he moved to Minneapolis. The last six years of his life he spent there with his son, Norman Stewart Hubbard.
Ten children were born to this union, two of whom, the youngest and eldest sons, preceded him in death.
He was taken ill September 7 and passed away September 24, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 27 days. He is survived by four sons, Richard S. Hubbard of Merril, Oregon, Ronald C. Hubbard, of Broadus, Montana, Norman Stewart Hubbard, of Minneapolis and Marcus A. Hubbard of Phoenix, Arizona; and four daughters, Mrs. C. C. Coleman of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. A. Henry Anderson of Milaca, Mrs. Carle L. Anderson, of Minneapolis, and Mrs. William Ames of St. Paul, eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Norman and Emma Hubbard had ten children, including: William Henry, Gladys Bernice, Marcus Ackley, Nell Catherine, and Charles A.
He was a blacksmith.
